OUR CULINARY RECOMMENDATIONS
Alhaurin el Grande
La Alegria, a wide menu of meat and fish. The fish is fresh in the glass display case. Delicious food in a cozy setting.
Casa Paco, a restaurant for real fish lovers. They also have meat dishes but fish predominates on the menu.
El Luga, a cozy Spanish restaurant with an extensive menu of tapas, fish and meat dishes. Tip, share the media raciones with the whole table to enjoy various dishes.
La Bodeguita, European menu, small but cozy, regularly live music.
Sam Sam Bistro, located on the church square and run by Dutch people. A slightly more expensive restaurant but the dishes are very tasteful and the served plates are a feast for your eyes.
Treze, a modern restaurant around the corner from the theater. The wine cellar at the entrance is modern and cozy. The food is of high quality.
The Boma, outside Alhaurin el Grande near the traffic circle to Mijas and Coin. South African restaurant with an elevated terrace with great views. Regular live music on weekends.
La Sardina, typical Spanish family restaurant. Delicious tapas, raciones to share and always atmospheric. Beloved among Spaniards but certainly also foreigners.
La Abuela, is best known for its delicious tapas, inside there are little to no seats, outside a small terrace. Reservations are necessary because they only have a limited number of tables.
El Rincon, a somewhat more luxurious restaurant where the dishes are a true art for your mouth and eyes. European cuisine. Very hospitable owner and the decor inside is luxurious.
Sushi Joy-it, a recently opened sushi restaurant with an extensive selection of delicious sushi and Asian dishes.
Mexology, small-scale Mexican restaurant run by a Mexican hostess. Real Mexican food in a small intimate setting with regular live music. Also a small patio for the summer months. Reservation recommended.
Alhaurin de la Torre
Taberna el Toro, cozy little Spanish restaurant where the owner literally welcomes you with open arms and a big smile. Loved by many Spaniards but also foreigners know their way around. Reservations are recommended. Inside a limited number of seats, outside a somewhat larger terrace under the trees on a quieter street. Delicious typical Spanish dishes.
Cienfuegos, a charming restaurant known for its authentic Spanish cuisine and warm, inviting atmosphere. Specializing in traditional Andalusian dishes, the restaurant offers a varied menu of fresh seafood, succulent meats and a , variety of tapas. Also great for celebrating something special.
Queijo, a typical little Spanish restaurant-bar in the center of Alhaurin de la Torre. A cozy terrace on the plaza de Santa Anna. The Tapas and raciones (portions to share) are very tasty here. Tip: on weekdays during lunch, ask for the menu del dia, a 3 course dinner of your choice for only 10,-. Great drinks or good food at Spanish prices.
Infinity Gastrobar, in the center of Alhaurin de la Torre. It has an intimate courtyard with umbrellas at the top. This way you are still sitting in the open air but also protected from any rain. This restaurant has a Mediterranean menu, and also specializes in Spanish and American dishes. If you want no nonsense, delicious food in a casual atmosphere choose Infinity Gastrobar.
Quest, tapas tapas tapas tapas.... with each tapas dish costing between 1.50 and 3 euros you receive a free drink. There are 2 locations, in the center of Alhaurin de la Torre and in Capellania Alhaurin de la Torre.
Rialto, a small Italian restaurant which is run by a couple who have family in our Venray. Tasty pizzas, pastas, risottos and house wines. Attentive service. Located along the Parque del patos in Alhaurin de la Torre.
Sergio Megias Gastrobar, An excellent restaurant with creative dishes in a pleasant atmosphere and characterized by excellent service. If you are looking for haute cuisine, dishes prepared with the utmost precision that also use the best products on the market, then this Gastrobar in Alhaurín de la Torre, is your best choice. Quality, presentation, mix of textures and flavors, and above all, culinary excellence.
Within walking distance of our Finca:
Torre de Vega, a 20-minute walk and 2 driving minutes away is Restaurante and Bar Torre de Vega. Here we have had many drinks and food ourselves and is therefore one of our favorites. Good Spanish food with a wide menu including various salads, fish and meat dishes. The desserts are 1 of the best in this area as they are handmade by the owner's wife who is very creative. Cheap food and drinks at good quality. With a terrace, a covered terrace and a restaurant area. Don't forget the tapas that are on display inside by the bar (are not on the menu/cart). During weekdays from Monday to Friday also with lunch, ask about the Menu del Dia, a cheap 3 course menu for around 12 -15 euros. Lunch and dinner reservations are recommended during the summer months.
Venta la Porrita, located 100 meters from Torre de Vega, is also a typical Spanish restaurant where you can eat good Spanish meat and fish dishes at a very reasonable price. Are you staying with us during the months of July and August? Then be sure to try the BBQ there on the weekends. They have a terrace at the back, a covered terrace in front of the street and a restaurant area inside. P.s. Don't forget the tapas that are displayed upon entry. (are not on the menu). They also have a very inexpensive Menu del Dia, a 3 course menu including drinks for lunch, for about 12 to 13 euros (only on weekdays). For all lunches or dinners, reservations are recommended in the summer months.
Restaurant Lauro Golf, international restaurant located in the beautiful patio/indoor garden with a large laurel tree of Lauro Golf. Opening hours depending on the (golf) season.
Other restaurants that we recommend but are slightly further away:
FED terraza, located in Coin. This restaurant is in an odd location high up, on the side of shopping center La Trocha in Coin. But once you arrive at the restaurant, you are spoiled with original dishes that we don't easily see on any other menu. The view from the restaurant and terrace is fantastic. Nice smooth, young owners and service.
Coconut Tapas Restaurant, also located in Coin, a great tapas restaurant, not offering only Spanish tapas but also original international tapas dishes.
Koko Bistro, located in the white mountain village of Mijas, always remains our favorite when we dine in Mijas, besides a regular menu they have great tasting Spanish and international tapas dishes. Lovely ambiance and friendly service. Don't forget the internal store with delicious cakes and pastries! Our recommendation when dining in Mijas.
La Playa Surf House, in a quieter stretch of beach between Malaga and Torremolinos is La Playa Surf House. Enjoy delicious cocktails on the decent sun loungers by the beach during the day and the extensive menu in the evening. From poke bowls and thai dishes to Nachos and Hamburgers, but just a little extra, that while enjoying a nice beat or a live DJ.
Bellavista, Italian restaurant between Alhaurin de la Torre and Torremolinos, located a bit higher up in the mountains. With a beautiful view of Malaga and its surroundings, this restaurant offers a very wide menu. Advance reservations are recommended on weekends as this place is beloved among the locals. They do not have a terrace but use sliding doors and windows so you feel like you are sitting outside and can enjoy the summer breeze.
Soto Voce, upscale Italian restaurant in the Carihuela district of Torremolinos. Carihuela is the “Dutch district” in Torremolinos where this Italian is a real breath of fresh air among all the Dutch bars and restaurants. On the promenade on the beach. Reservations are recommended.
KRAKEN, The gastronomic offer of tapas bar KRAKEN, in Malaga Center, is designed for everyone. KRAKEN is a place where you can eat well and at ease. It is a tapas restaurant with terrace in the center of Malaga and where they serve Street Food The restaurant is located in Plaza de Las Flores. Choose tapas, for yourself, or with others to share. Reservations recommended.
